Another Day, Another Lip Color

This is a very light and natural-looking makeup look for a relatively busy day when i don't have time to do a full eyeshadow look. I only used two shades from the  jeffree star cosmetics   beauty killer palette  . I used the shade Courtney as my transition shade to deepen my hooded eyes a tiny bit and then I patted Princess on my lid to create that little twinkle. I then went straight to applying mascara. No liner. I then applied N ars  deep throat,  makeupgeek  x  kathleenlights  highlight in starlight and T he Balm Cosmetics   betty loumanizer  because I wanted a natural glowy cheek instead of a cut heavily contoured one. To finish off, I tried on, for the very first time, MAC  cosmetics   liptensity   smoked almond  to be consistent with the whole light natural makeup look.  Other products used are:  @benefitcosmetics   #browzings  and #gimmebrow @makeupforeverofficial #ultrahdfoundatio...

Finally got my grubby paws on this baby during an opportune visit to the @maccosmetics  store at Trinoma. I was there to check out and swatch the #macnutcrackersweet   #holidaycollection but the product testers haven't arrived so that was a no-go. I instead asked if they had finally restocked  #smokedalmond . Couldn't believe my ears when they said they just did. Yey! I've wanted to snag this sweet sweet lippie ever since @danaann  swatched the  #macliptensity line on her youtube channel. It looked like a foolproof nude color that will go with a myriad of looks. Apparently, I wasn't the only one who thought so because this shade sold out almost instantly. I feel like this will be a regular in my makeup bag.

I heard from a stand up comic once that all women are obsessed with the fall season. Ask any woman which season is her favorite and it's always gonna be fall. As far as I've noticed, it's true. We love the colors of the leaves falling, the brisk weather, the luxurious knits that's suddenly on trend and we love the pumpkin orange and berry tones on our faces. It's as if we want to bathe in the whole fall season. I've only just realized this. Is it true with you? Eye Makeup is primarily  @marcbeauty #allaboutlastnight  eyecon. Oh. My. I know this palette doesn't seem to be the typical fall themed makeup but check out that burgundy, dusty rose, violet and orange. Those are totally fall appropriate. The pink, greens and the light blue would be a fun spring/summer eye. That white is useful all year long. This palette is just full of possibilities. Thanks for the assist  @margaretraizza  . I have been trying to hunt this one down for a year. @viseart  palette no. 8 purchased online from  @mupstore   Three matte palettes down. One more to go then on to the Theory palettes.

In the picture are some new products to add to my brow routine. I've always used my  @benefitcosmetics   #browzings  (as you can infer from the old packaging) with my  @maccosmetics  angled brushes (266 and 208). Lately though I thought why not expand this. There's so many newĺy launched products, why not branch out a little and mix it up a bit. So, I'm adding a couple of defining pencils, the  @benefitph   #preciselymybrowpencil and the  @makeupforeverofficial #prosculptingbrow  , and a microfiber filler, the  #benefitcosmetics   #gimmebrow . These three are all very well and widely reviewed and, upon initial testing, I can definitely see why. Some more usage is needed to fully form an opinion on these though.

The Balm's Meet Matte Hughes Devoted is a slightly orangey bright red lipstick. It is also noticeably lighter and thinner than Loyal. This is the most problematic of this line due to that thin consistency as the coverage also tends to be thin and it becomes a bit tricky to apply it evenly on the lips. I can definitely see some areas where my natural lip color was peeking through and that's just not what you want with red or dark lipsticks. On the other hand, this lipstick still photographs rather well which is true of all the Meet Matte Hughes. All in all, Devoted is not my favorite red liquid lipstick. I'd say if you want a red from this line, go for Loyal or Adoring instead.

Apply a matte or at least a satin black eyeshadow as close as possible to the lashline and a little bit in the lower crease area. This elongates and deepens small asian eyes. It also creates the illusion of thicker eyelashes which really opens up the eye.

This is why I avoid the @makeupforeverofficial  store when I'm trying to stick to a budget. Their products are just too good to pass up. I had to grab the  #prosculptingbrow  (I've been eyeing this ever since it came out), the  #aquaxleyepencil  (in black because I need a backup and my old one is down to almost a nub) and two of the #artistrouge  creme lipsticks in shades C211 and C108. As freebies, the great girls at  @makeupforeverphilippines  trinoma gave me this cool hologram pouch and some samples of the #step1primer  .

The Balm Cosmetics Meet Matte Hughes Loyal is what is usually referred to as a true red. It's not too cool or too warm or pinkish or orangey. It's that classic red that goes with all skintones. It's also not limited to a particular season. It's not too light to be strictly a summer shade or too dark to only be a fall shade. As the name suggests, this is a lip color that can stay by your side (and on your lips) for all time.

I have lusted for  @natashadenona eyeshadows for almost a year now. They looked so rich and pigmented. Even at more than $200 dollars for the 28 shadow palette, I thought they were worth it because you get a lot of product for the price and quality product at that. This is also how i view  @makeupforeverofficial   artist shadows and   @narsissist   audacious lipsticks. They are expensive because they are worth it. I just never pulled the trigger on the ND big palettes because I did not think I'd get much use out of them. The shades weren't right for me, too many greens, blues and purples, and that made the big palettes not worth the price tag. But, the Star Palette is different. The  #natashadenonastarpalette  looks perfect with its warm mattes, berries and taupes . I can wear these shades every day of the week. Plus, the reviews have been excellent.
