The last in my #maybelline creamy matte series, Rich Ruby is a slightly dark red that's closer to a true red than Siren in Scarlet. While it's darker, it's also more toned down than Siren and has blue undertones as opposed to Siren's orange undertones. This kind of red goes very well with an evening gown or a power suit or a sleek dress because it conveys a mix of sass and sophistication. As with all the other lipsticks in the creamy matte range, this was not a true matte. That's fine though because, instead, this had a creamy-satiny finish that applied smoothly and, unlike most mattes, was not drying on the lips. It's actually a bit hydrating.
